author recommendation
Feb. 3rd, 2008 06:34 pmI have found an ink-and-paper author whose work you might enjoy if you like mysteries. Her name is Charlaine Harris and she has several series out. All are set in the southern US and all have female protagonists, but beyond that they differ.
There is the Southern vampire series where vampires, werecreatures and other supernatural folk co-exist with mundane humans.
There is the Harper Connally series (my current favorite) where the heroine was struck by lightening as a teenager and now can communiciate with the dead (finding missing bodies and determining cause of death).
There is the 'Shakespeare" series, set in a town called Shakespeare, where the heroine is a free-lance housekeeper who survived a horrific attack and is putting her life back together.
Finally, there the Aurora Teagarden series, where the heroine is a librarian with an interest in 'true crime'.
Her books are quick reads; she has a knack for characterization and she can make the strangest scenarios seem plausible. Check her out at your local library.
